CROSS-CURRICULAR TEACHING.

“Cross-curricular learning promotes authenticity in teaching and learning. Authentic learning experiences involve adult and child leaners together.” (Driscoll, Lambirth and Roden, 2015. p. 274).

We are living in a world that it is in a continue change where social, instructive and educational functions are three key points in the life and with those functions is how we are going to create the women and the men from the future.

On these years the education had changed a lot as the people is trying to ‘create’ people more solidarized, open minds, actives, conscious of their rights, etc. In this case, the education in the XXI century, must face three basic objectives where the Themes or Cross cutting theme have to develop (Gonzalez Lucini, 1993):

1.       First is to awake the pupil’s illusion. That means, the illusion of live the life, fight for something positive and for something that you really want to have and to get in a future.
2.       In second place, get a personalized training guide to the learn how to the way of learn how to live the life in happiness and with your own self and with the people around you.
3.       And in third place, build a society from social elections more humanities, free, and more solidary. A frater society which perceive and feel the future of the planet as a common, shared and universal future.
What is cross curricular teaching?
It is a new way to teach the pupils, the thing is that if we are happy with that new upload curricular teaching. The principal question is, should we still teaching as our teachers did, that means, different subjects, or should we change the way and try to mix all subjects in one?
In my opinion, I was investigating this case that was completely new for me as in my country that is a little bit weird and no one told me about it.  There are different subjects in primary school, at the time that I was listening to my lecturer, he was asking us if that would be possible and what would be preferred. Possible it is, but I think is quite difficult. Probably mixing two subjects it is all right, for example, in a Spanish school, mixing mathematics with English is an easy way to teach two things in a same class. But I was thinking in the same time if we probably add the subject of music or sciences, how would we do that? There is no way to teach that mix. There are some of the subjects that you can mix them depending on what are you going to teach the pupil, for example, teaching mathematics in English and adding art as you are teaching them the shapes.
As a continuation of the cross curricular teaching, there are some principles that we have to know:
Characterized and developed by individual teachers with an excellent knowledge about the subjects, a very deep comprehension about the culture and the history of that subject and to have the capacity of bring the subject to a spacious theme for the learning of that subject in an open way.
-          Motivate and encourage the learning of the children in a nice way and also using their experience on their life’s.
-          Purpose active learning and experience to the pupils.
-          Develop a nice cooperation and collaborative union between the parents and the teachers from each pupil.
-          Contribute to an extend range of opportunities of teaching and learning on the individuals teaching subjects.
-          Promote the cognitive, personal and social develop on the pupils in an integrated way.
-          Permit the teachers to evaluate and do a reflection about their teaching and let them be creative and innovators on their curriculum pacification.

To sum up, I think a cross curricular teaching will be a good idea for a future teaching, but I will also say that it needs more time to get better and have a better organization because it does not look like that a teacher could just add a bunch of subjects in just one hour, and make it with sense.
